M.T. is an illegal immigrant that speaks perfect English and knows no other country than America. As she approaches the end of her high school career, she struggles with dreams of a future that cannot be because of her illegal status. She has kept her secret from her closest friends and as the reality of her future begins to weigh her down, she starts on a slippery slope downward that takes her on paths she never thought she would go.
Based on her own life, the author creates a story that draws you into the world of a young woman who is thrown into a circumstance that she has very little control of along with dealing with some of the struggles that many teenagers face as they travel through this tumultuous time in their lives.
