What to read?

If you are looking for something new for your Book Club....I stumbled upon a website that has a whole list of ideas. We have many of the books on their list as single copies available in our library and many of them available in multiple copy as well. It has a summary of the book, book reviews, discussion questions and a little bit about the author. I have attached a link to their website.

Recovering Charles

"Recovering Charles" is book that is available in the Book Club section of our library. This book is about a man who is content with life and happy with the way things are going. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, he gets a phone call telling him that his estranged father is missing.  This book leads him on a path of rediscovering his father and finding a "'second verse" in is relationship with his father. It is a story of hope and the healing of old wounds as Luke learns to forgive and also discovers that people can change.

If your book club is looking for a book to read, this is a good book that grabbed me and then kept me reading. It makes you look at life and maybe re-evaluate priorities and decide what really matters. I didn't realize some of the tragedies that were happening at the time of Hurricane Katrina and so it was educational for me as well.

It is a fairly popular book so you'll need to plan ahead and put copies on hold, but we do have some copies currently available.

Great Read For Girls

Great Read For Girls

Great Read For Girls is a mother/daughter book club for girls and a caring adult that is sponsored by the Lehi Library. The book they are reading for February is "Ella Enchanted". All you need to do is go to the library website and register. There is still room available for February! So pick up a copy... read the book... and come join us in discussing the book and some fun activities.

Don't you hate it when you can't remeber the name of the next book in a series? Or you would like to read another book by your favorite author and you don't know what else they've written?
