I Become Shadow by Joe Shine
Fourteen year old Ren Sharpe is your typical teenage girl, that is until she is kidnapped and forced to join FATE (Future Affairs Training Education), a secret world organization that trains their recruits to protect future leaders. The four year training includes daily nerve-killing injections called "fire" and relentless physical training that leaves the recruits with no pain, no fear and an unwavering duty to protect whatever world leader they are assigned to protect.
When Ren finally "graduates" and is assigned her FIP (Future Import Person) things get off to a rocky start and Ren cannot quite seem to follow correct protocol. Eventually her FIP is attacked and leaves Ren questioning the very organization she works for.
This is a great quick read for Young Adults.
