Stitching Snow

Essie has been hiding out on the planet, Thanda for the past eight years. She has been able to make a place for herself on the cold, bitter mining planet where she "stitches" or repairs the old mining drones that the miners use in their mines. To earn a little extra, she has proven herself in the "cage" as quite the fighter where she takes on men twice her size and comes out the unmistakable winner.

One evening as she is headed home, an aircraft crash lands in the field not too far from her home. She goes to the crash site to help any survivors and it turns out there is only one. Against her better judgment she agrees to help the lone survivor, Dane, repair the ship and get him on his way.

Once the ship is repaired and Dane prepares to head back into space, events unfold that forces Essie to reevaluate what is important and what her future holds.

This is a fun, futuristic retelling of the fairy tale, Snow White. I was a little worried it may be too similar to the "Lunar Series", and even though there are some similarities "Stitching Snow" is definitely worth the read and can hold it's own.
