Paper Boy

Paperboy by Vince Vawter

Set back in the early 60's this is the story of very resourceful 11 year old boy who struggles to get his words out, but throws the meanest fastball in town.  His one good friend is going to his grandpa's farm for the month of July and needs someone to take over his paper route. He knows it is going to be the hardest thing he has ever had to do, talk to strangers and collect payments for the papers, but he can't let his friend down.

This is a touching story of a young boy who faces a debilitating stutter and yet finds a way to communicate with the kids and adults around him. It brings to light a disability that is often overlooked and yet affects millions.
