The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Seventeen year old Cassie has lived with her father's family since her mother was gruesomely murdered. Even though they love her and want her to be happy, she doesn't feel like she quite fits in. Her natural talent of noticing the smallest details and putting it all together has caught the attention of the FBI. The FBI is assembling a classified program involving teenagers who have the natural ability to profile in order to help solve some of their cold cases.
With a hidden desire to solve her mothers murder, Cassie signs up to be a part of the program. While she is going through some training with the other teens in the program, Lia (Natural lie detector), Michael (Emotions expert) and Sloane (Statistician genius), the teens stumble into a current case the FBI is working on and it seems to be connected to the murder of Cassie's mom.
Jennifer Barnes does a good job of building the characters in this book, and even though it's a little difficult to believe the FBI would use teenagers to be involved in such gruesome crimes, it is still a well written book that was a good read.
