Recovering Charles

"Recovering Charles" is book that is available in the Book Club section of our library. This book is about a man who is content with life and happy with the way things are going. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, he gets a phone call telling him that his estranged father is missing.  This book leads him on a path of rediscovering his father and finding a "'second verse" in is relationship with his father. It is a story of hope and the healing of old wounds as Luke learns to forgive and also discovers that people can change.

If your book club is looking for a book to read, this is a good book that grabbed me and then kept me reading. It makes you look at life and maybe re-evaluate priorities and decide what really matters. I didn't realize some of the tragedies that were happening at the time of Hurricane Katrina and so it was educational for me as well.

It is a fairly popular book so you'll need to plan ahead and put copies on hold, but we do have some copies currently available.
